APF Level 1 Award in Candles
A beginner level introduction to candles for those starting a career in the industry or pursuing an interest in candles.
For individuals new to the subject, this qualification offers a hands-on introduction to the world of candles. You’ll explore the main styles and types of candles through sight, smell, and burning to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting textures and scent flows. Upon successful completion you will receive a APF certificate and lapel pin.

How to make candles with typical wax materials
Factors affecting the aromas of scented candles
The main types and applications of wicks
This qualification has a minimum requirement of twelve hours of study time, in a classroom or online, with a APF course provider.

Assessment is by a guided candle making test.
On successful completion of the examination you will receive a APF certifcate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated APF certified logo.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. People who are interested in candle or intend to join the candle industry are all welcome.
